Now Booking: What's left of 2021 and already working on 2022! :)

Well….WHAT A YEAR IT’S BEEN! I hope you all are healthy and staying as positive as possible as we continue through this very REAL pandemic together. (One of us makes ice cream and the other teaches Physics….this is the house that Science built. Mask up, y’all!)

Us?! Truthfully, we are exhausted. Player 2 is a teacher by trade and if you know, THEN YOU KNOW. I am in AWE of him on a daily basis. The expectations on society on a whole, to be productive and get through this all with koom-bye-ya unity and can-do attitude, is maddening. It feels like I’m being gaslit on a daily basis. Life is currently pretty difficult for most people and has been for almost a year. Literally no aspect of it is “easy” or convenient anymore and sometimes it’s REALLY tough to remember that this is temporary.

But that’s the whole jag of life, right? Learning to adapt is essential to species survival. That’s why we meditate. It’s why we go to therapy. It’s what we strive our WHOLE lives to try to accept. The only thing that is guaranteed is that eventually, things will change. The key is taking the fear that holds you back and telling it, “Hey Buddy, I know that fear used to keep my ancestors from getting eaten by a bear, but I just don’t need that right now.” (As the crunchier folk say: It no longer serves me.)

I’m not sure that I’ve ever shared this with you but in the very beginning of this business I had a bit of a freak out. We were in the process of building it. We had just finished the commercial kitchen space and were working on the truck when I turned to Player 2 and just started CRYING. “What if we made a huge mistake? What if people don’t like it? What if WE don’t like it? What if we started something we just hate doing?!!!!” And this beautiful, rational man, looks me right in the eyes…. smiles and says, “Then it’s the time we had an ice cream truck.”

Just like that, I relaxed. That though had literally never occurred to me. I smiled at the thought of having a life full of adventures. I smiled at the thought that I get to have them with Player 2. And I’m smiling now because I love sharing that with you guys. Because no matter where we end up years in the future, you guys will always be a part of that time we had an ice cream truck. And that’s pretty rad.

As always, THANK YOU. Between you and Player 2, I am a pretty lucky person.
We can’t wait to see you again!!

Brooke :)
